This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Stickman Explainer Video service and the related pages on claydesk.com/explainers (the “Service”), why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It applies alongside the general ClayDesk website privacy policy; where the two differ for the Service, this policy applies.
- We collect what we need to make and deliver your video: your contact details, your brief and the files you upload, and your payment confirmation from Stripe.
- We use AI tools to draft the script and generate the voice-over. Your brief is not used to train any AI model.
- If you connect a TikTok account, we only read your basic profile and upload the video to your drafts. We never post for you, and you can revoke access at any time.
- We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
- You can ask for a copy, correction or deletion of your data at any time at info@claydesk.com.

1. Who we are
ClayDesk LLC is a United States company and the data controller for the Service. Our contact address for privacy matters is info@claydesk.com. We provide short animated explainer videos to businesses: you place an order, complete a brief, approve a script, and receive the finished video. Optionally, you can connect a TikTok account so we upload the finished video to your TikTok drafts.
2. Data we collect

2.2 Data collected automatically
Our web host records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. The order page sets a cookie only to remember your TikTok connection session (section 11). The ClayDesk website may use analytics as described in the general website policy.
2.3 Data about other people
Your brief may mention customers, partners or staff of your business (for example testimonials or names). Only include personal data about others if you are entitled to share it and to have it appear in a public video. We treat it as part of your content.
2.4 What we do not collect
We do not collect card details, government identifiers, biometric data, precise location, or sensitive categories of data. Please do not include them in a brief or attachment.

We do not use your data for marketing to you beyond emails about your own orders, unless you separately opt in. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
4. AI processing
Producing your video involves automated tools:
- Script drafting. We send the relevant parts of your brief to a large language model operated by Anthropic (Claude) to draft the narration and on-screen text. A member of our team reviews every script, and you approve it before anything is animated. Under our agreement with Anthropic, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.
- Voice-over. The approved script text is sent to a neural text-to-speech service (Microsoft Azure Speech voices) to generate the narration audio. Only the script text is sent, never your contact details or files.
- Animation and rendering happen on systems operated by ClayDesk.
These providers act as our processors for this purpose. They receive only what is needed for the step, and we do not permit them to use your content for any other purpose.
5. TikTok integration
If you choose to connect a TikTok account on the “Post to TikTok” page, TikTok asks you to authorise our app, Stickman Explainer Video, for two permissions:
- user.info.basic: your TikTok open ID, display name and avatar. We use these only to show which account is connected.
- video.upload: permission to upload a video to that account’s inbox as a draft. We never publish content, never edit or delete your existing videos, and never read your comments, followers or messages.
What we store: the access and refresh tokens TikTok issues (encrypted at rest), your open ID, display name, avatar URL, and the TikTok publish identifier and status of each upload. Tokens are tied to a browser session cookie on our site that expires after 24 hours. What we do with it: upload the explainer video you ordered to your TikTok drafts when you click the upload button. The upload is then yours to edit and post in TikTok. How to stop it: click Disconnect on our page (we revoke the token with TikTok and delete it), or remove the app in TikTok under Settings and privacy, Security and permissions, Apps and services. Your use of TikTok is also governed by TikTok’s own terms and privacy policy. We do not share any other data with TikTok.
6. Who we share data with
We share personal data only with providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that restrict them to our instructions, and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.

We may also disclose data to professional advisers, to a successor if our business is sold or merged (you would be told), and to courts or authorities when legally required or to protect our rights, your safety or others’.
7. International transfers
ClayDesk is based in the United States and your data is processed there. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your data leaves your region. We rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) with our providers where required, and on providers’ participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where available, together with the safeguards in section 9. You can ask us for details of the safeguards used.
8. How long we keep data

9. Security
We protect your data with measures appropriate to its sensitivity: HTTPS on every page and API call; encryption at rest for access tokens and API credentials; access limited to the ClayDesk staff who work on your order; separate restricted credentials for each provider with the minimum permissions; file-type and size checks on uploads; and logging of order status changes. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your data we will inform you and, where required, the relevant authority without undue delay.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. We honour the following for everyone, wherever you are:
- Access: a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion of your data, subject to records we must keep by law (section 8).
- Restriction or objection to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Portability: your brief and delivered files in a common format.
- Withdrawal of consent at any time, for example for sample use or the TikTok connection, without affecting earlier processing.
- Complaint to your data protection authority. In the EEA, the UK or Switzerland you may contact your local supervisory authority.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the rights to know, delete, correct and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorised agent; we will verify the request. Other US states with privacy laws (for example Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon) grant similar rights, which we honour in the same way.
To exercise any right, email info@claydesk.com from the address used for your order, or tell us how to verify you. We respond within 30 days (45 days where the law allows, with notice).
11. Cookies and analytics
The Service pages set one functional cookie, sev_tt, only when you connect a TikTok account. It holds a random session identifier, is marked HttpOnly and Secure, and expires after 24 hours. It is required for the TikTok feature to work and is not used for tracking. The wider claydesk.com site may set analytics and preference cookies as described in the website privacy policy; the Stripe checkout page sets Stripe’s own cookies under Stripe’s policy.
12. Children
The Service is for businesses and professionals and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Deleting your data
To delete your order data, attachments or TikTok connection: email info@claydesk.com with “Delete my data” and the email address used for the order. We confirm within 30 days. TikTok access can also be removed instantly from within TikTok (section 5). Delivered videos you have already received are yours and are unaffected. Payment records required by law are retained as set out in section 8.
14. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page with a new effective date and version number. For material changes affecting open orders or connected TikTok accounts, we will also email you. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means the updated policy applies.
